Orrice try Prrreirosow Gamma,
FRIDAY, March 18, 1870.
The Iron business has again been quiet
this week, the sales in the aggregate
being comparatively light, while in re
gard to prima there is no change, as
compared with Mat week., The demand
continues meagre, and some of the lead
ing buyers are again very °bearish . pre.
dieting lower prices, and in anticipation
of-this, they are buying apmingly.
However, the feeling, If anything, Is
steadief than it wie last week, and west
ern irons are held with considerable
tenacity, there being no disposition
manifested to force sides, and, besides.
many of the western furnaces are sold
close up, and in some Instances ahead.
Furthermore, eastern inns are not °Ker
ing so freely, and there Is not as much
metal of any kind on the market as
there was in January, stilt as already,
Intimated, the demand this week and
for several weeks preceding, was light,
and the volume of business compara
tively Inidgnlticant.
