We published a brief so count of trus sad occurrence yesterday, and this morning give the testimony taken by the Coroner in full, which 'con tains alt the facts connected with the -awe: I= The testimony Is as follows: „ Ito Dr. P. D. Perchzient, aw —I was called to see Mr. Thompeo about elk o'clock; found him unnonsci us, but not motionless. He asked to be walked about, and I waisted Mr: Lindsey to take him to the window. He then began to breathe heavy and slow, pulse slow End feeble, eyes dilated and immovable. Ithen saw or feared he was suffering from compression of the brain by the rupture of some of the email vmaels, producing extramsation of blood on the brain proper. Haut for his wife and family physician. Dr. Lewis came and concurred in my epinion. He died from compression of the brain. .." George /Wards, worn—Saturday af ternoon, about five o'clock, was sitting in my (Moe with Mr. Thompson, when I slaw Mr. Lindsay and Mr. Haziewood looking at the lot belonging to Mr. SprowL Went out to see them, and Mr. Haziowood asked me if I had the key to the house. Went Into the Mace and got the key, and asked Mr, Thompson to go with me to seethe home. Mr. Lindsay, Mr. Hasiewood, Mr. Thompson and my. self went into the house. I opened the shutters of the front room.to admit light, then opened tho doori of the dining room end kitchen. We then started out: when I got to the front door, Thompson. and RA21,314.'0°4 were going up stairs; I followed them and opened the shutters In the front part of the house, and they passed through Into the room over the dining room. I followed them in, and while opening the abutters In that room heard a noise as otsome one falling down stairs; also heard Mr. Healewood exclaim "Thompson has fallen down atairs." I then went to the head of the stairs, looked down and called Mr. Thompson by same but reeelved no answer. Then ran dawn the front stairs and met Mr. Lindsay at the front door. Asked film to come back with ma as Mr. Thompson had fallen down stairs and I supposed was badly hurt. Went back and found him lying in the kitchen, at the foot of the stains. Raised him up and I saw a severe cut on the back of his head. Mr. Lindsay field him up while I went and Look a gate off the hinges to make room to pass out with Mr. Thompson. We then carried him to the residence of Mr. A. P. McWilliams. Am satisfied that Mr. Thompson was rot under the Influence of liquor. He was in my office at least one hour and a half prior to the accident. When we found him at the foot of the emirs he was lying with his feet towards the wall and his head doubled down to wards hie feet. _ 6: v. Lnubsey, elem.—Came out from the city on the train; met Mr.limlowood. who stopped me, and asked me what I thought of the Spew( property; add I theturbt It a desirable location; went with ' him to look atit. While looking at the lot Mr. Richards came out of his office, and Mr. Haztewcicill asked for the key to me the house, Mr. R. went back and got the key, and when be returned, Thomp son came with him. We then want into the house, peeled through the front room to the kitchen. Mr. Hazlewood, Mr. Thompson and Mr. Richards .passed out to the back porch, and I went op the kitchen stairs, looked at the rooms, and came down again. They went up stairs, and I waited at the front door. They had not been gone more than ten minutes un til Richards came running down stairs, and said to me that Mr. Thompson had fallen down the stairway and he feared , he was badly hurt. We went round to. gather and found him lying on the kitchen floor, unconscious, and bleeding from a severe cut on the back part of the head. We then picked him up and car. rind him to the residence of Mr. A. P. McWilliams. Dr. Parchment was called in and examinrd the wound, and said he thought be was suffering from compress don of the brain,-and &a-ad that he was Injured Internally and would not recover. Dr-Lowls was sent for and his opinion was too same as that of Dr. Perchment. lam satisfied that Mr. Thompson was Perfectly sober when he =lie over to I Irak at the house. Tho stains were very steep. It was a box stairway and very narrow. Hozlewood, sworn—Mr. Thomo. eon and myself, with Than. Lindsay and Mr. Richards went into Mr. BprowPs house to examine it. Had examined the lower part and gone up atalrs. Was ten or twelve feet from Mr.l,Thompeon when I heard him fall, and called to him to know if be was hurt. He' made no answer. Mr. Richards then ran down stair's and opened the kitchen door and I proceeded down the stairs where Mr. Thompson had fallen. Mr. Richards •and myself got down about the same time andepoke to Mr. Thompson. He was lying on the kitchen poor.We asked him If he was hurt, but received no answer. Mr. Richards, Mr. Lindsay, and some one else, carried Mr. Thompson to Mr. McWilliams'. He ap peared to have two cola on the back of his brad, bat did not bleed much; the cuts did not appear to bo deep: he had a small cut on tile forehead. He did not appear' to lose his senses, but did not an swer any, questions. I had been ac quainted with Mr. Thompson for about six months; do not think he was under the influence of liquor.. A. terrible tragedy occurred at Stony Hollow, just outside of the city limits, yesterday morning about halt past nine o'clock, the particulars of which are shout 53 rall o Wat immediately north of the P. This shantywas built and occupled by a family consisting of Patrick Brannegan, his wife and eight children, the young est four weeks old.
