than last week, averaging about 800,
and as will be seen below, the great pro-

The market is devoid of anything
really new or Important. The demand
seemed to - be fully up to the supply, and
while prime fat cattle .sold readily at
fun prices, In some instances at an ad-
vance, the common grades . were a little
dullish, though by 11 A. at. the rent
were alt pretty well cleared. There
were fewer commission cattle than
usual, most of the offerings being owned
and In the hands of regular dealers, and
the market in nearly always firmer when
this is the case, as operatera when'they
have in open tteld very frequently play

were several car loads bold to go east

the butchers, and then again there was
a number of stock cattle wholesaled.
In regard to quality, the average was
perhaps a little better than last week,
though not any better than usual, and
as already Intimated, the demand was
