Kale and McCafferty, went to the house
of Becloud Bliss, on Wayne street, In
the Fourth ward, this city, between
three'and four o'clock A. st., and de
manded admittance. Mrs. Bliss refused
to open the door, when they made an
attack upon It with boulders, some of
whim were thrown through the win-
dows. They then went to an Iron mill
and procured a bar of iron, with which
'the front door was broken open. The,
party then went Into the Louse and des
[ troyed some of the furniture. When
the case was called, before entering a
plea, Mr. Heins, one of the counsel for
defendants, moved to quash the 'in.
dlctment for the reason that it did
not specifically set forth that the
parties had assembled for .-riot

thou motion. Mr. Moore, counsel for

should be made known, he would ask
leave to enter a plea or accord and setts.

paid by hie clients to Mrs. fillse in satin
faction of the damages done to her holm,
with the understanding that the can
would be settled: The Court stated that
the plea could not be admitted. A plea
of got guilty wee then entered and the
counsel for Commonwealth proceeded to
call witnesses. .
The testimony revealed nothing farther
than what is contained In the statement
of the cue. On trial.
