Quarter Sessions—Judge Collier.
Frunar, December 10.—In the case ot
Samuel `Newton, George Doke and Mil
ler Clark. tried on an Indictment nor
Rank and battery, the Jury found a ver
dict of not guilty, but directed the de
fendants to pay the costs.
In the cote of Nicholas Meyers. indict
ed for an assault upon James Wells. a
verdict of not guilty was rendered. The
defendant was directed to pay two.thlrds
of We costa.
Timothy Scanlon was found guilty on
two Indictments for assault and battery.
On tile Drat Indictment be was sentenced
ply the costs, and on the second a flue
of five dollars and the cost.
U. L. Malone was found guilty on a
charge of lowanit and battery. Sentence I
deferred.
W. P. Wamuler plead node Contendre
to an Indictment charging him with se.
