Poor of the city of Pittsburgh, In con
junction with the Directors of the Poor
of Allegheny City and the county, ap
point a committee to confer with those
having authority over the Western
Panneytvanla Hospital to have that in
stitution devoted to its original purpose.
We resolution has reference to the
building now occupied as a Soldiers'
Homo Years ago the property, twenty

is erected, was Resented to Gip city by
the representatives of the Schenly and
Danny estates, for a city hospital site.
After the building had been constructed
It was occupied for this purpose for some
time. 'Subsequently, it peened by leg
islative grant into the hands of
the manager, of the Dizmont
Hospital, In trust as an additional 11141-
tuition for the Insane. When Dtzmont
wee entirely completed, the Hospital
was but little used for this purpose, and
daring the war was taken in charge by
the Government as a Soldiers Home, to
which purpose It hes since been devoted.
It is kept up now by the Interest accru
ing from an Investment of 11100,000 se
cured at the Sanitary Fair held here dur
ing the war. The object of the resolution
le to ascertain if the Hospital cannot be
converted into a City and County Hoe.
