Thomas Caroon, who was tried for the
matter of, hie son-in-law, Frank
Schenck, and convicted of manslaughter,
was called op for sentence. The Court
sentenced himto undergo three year's im-

were present in the court room at the
time, and after the sentence had been
passed Catoon wept freely while bidding
them adieu.
John Coota and C. F. Good, convicted
of obstructing an officer to thedischarge
of his dudes, were next sentenced.
Coots was required to pay a Line of
twenty.five doliate and the mists, and a
fine of fifty dollars and the coats were
imposed on Good.

rison, Esq , presented a petition from
Christ Len Grerungle, residing in the-rear
of No. 217 Ohio street, Allegheny, with •
view of obtaining possession of his

Who hi now In the custody of Joseph
Bruckmeller. residing on Juniata street,
Allegheny. The petition sets forth that
the petitioner and wife, Matilda Ann
Orenagle, now Matilda Ann Rogers, were
divorced, in June last, and that since that
time the child has been in passesaion of
the respondent, by dir ctlon of the said
Matilda A. Rogers. The petitioner for.
titer avers that Mr.. Rogers Is totally nil•
lit to take proper care of the child, and
that she is now In 4all charged with
stealing Jewelry and other valuables from
the hone(' of E L. Drava. He alaostates
that he desires the child to live with
him, and that he is able to give it all re.
