NEw Yons, August 12.—Trade is im proving;.pricea generally well maintain ed fot all cotton and woolen fabrics of staple makes; yet we find here and there occasionally some shading on rates of certain classes of goods, which, however ' would be no criterion of the market. However, •it shows the feeling is less bouyant on cotton goods than a few weeks since, but nevertheless there is every reason to believe that fall trade; though late will be heavy. Prints hang fire' and the indications are that most of the pop ular makes will have to be shaded before there is any active demand. • Woolen shawls and hosiery of low grades are in good request, and woolens for men's wear beginning to move more freely. Bags in better request, which is a good sign that harvest throughout the country will be bountiful. IMPORTS BY RAILACiAII.
