not likely that there will be any imme

case for some time past, the demand for
almost everything is confined mainly to
supplying inimediatek wants , while in
regard to values there are no important
changes. •
The: Chicago Reptglican of Weilidiso)''
day comments as toll we on iitiegisiin
markets: • •
Our grain markets a,743 moderately ac
tive to-day, and at Vines there was con
siderable excitement, a weak feeling
prevailing on all hands. Telegraphic
advlces from=Atte East and - Liverpool
markets were nominally unchanged •
from yesterday,. but - there was an evi
dent desire on the part of tfie - "longs" to
realize, they evidently anticipating -
lower Prices in the immediate future.
The,recelpte were fair, very good fur the
season, and to this may ,be attributed
some of the weakness, many fearing that
. the farmers are going to
.push their
stocks forward so as to sell at,the appa
rent high prices now ruling here: •Thert
again the pleasant weather of the past
few days is just what is needed to bring
forwatd the crops, and will do very
much toward saving the grain planted
on low land, and operators have about
come to the conclusion that the cry of
short-crops was premature.
APPLES-Firm and with verymeagre
arrivals, prices are tending upward.
We now quote at $1(55 per nbi; - for goon

CHEESE—Is in good supply and 'very
dull—ranging from 14 to 17 cents as to

23. and in small lota. 29@)30.
DRIED FRUIT—Very little inquiry,
and prices nominal.
EGGS—Quoted 'at 18 @2oc.
FLOUR—The flour market remains hi.
the same condition it has been in for_
some time past—firm' but unsettled and
irregular, and in . very light - supply.
There is not much uniformity in prices,
dealers generally working In dependent
of each other, and what is true of dealers
'is equally applicable to the mills. The
demand is by no means urgent, as_ con
sumers generally are buyinz just'
enough to run them from one week to
another, in anticipation of a decline,
-though as we have repeatedly stated,
flour is relatively much cheaper here
than it is in the west. Good to choice
