there was an increased volume of bust.

PITTSBURGH MARKETS.

THURSDAY, Jilly 22,.1E69.
The general markets present nothing
that is new - or really- iniportant. The
fine weather of the past two or three
days has prcdncede more. cheerful feel
ing in commercial circles, and hopes are
now entertained that the crops will yet •
be secured in good condition. We no
lice, in our exchanges that new wheat
has commenced to flow pretty freely in
to some of the western markets, and we
may look for pretty liberal arrivals here •
within the next two or three weeks, as
it is likely that farmers will sell as quick
as possible, in .order to realize present.
prices. All accounts agree that the crop
in this section of the country is better,
both in yield and quality, than it has
been for several years, and it is not •
probable, therefore, that the figures now
current, will be snsteined for any length
of time.
Private intelligence from New York
and Chicago today, report both wheat
and flour strong, and it Was inferred by
some that the ioreign news may have
been the cause of it. As most of the stock
in both these places is in the hands
of speculatiors, it is not improbable that
they may be able to keep prices up for
two or three week, especially if the
European advises should in the slightest •
degree be in their favor, but the irn- •
pression is, that not only wheat, but
all kinds of grain must rule lower, once. t
`the new crop commences to move.
