Belle Lee built, has retired froth the

famous Mary Keepe, later of the R. E..
Lee, and still later of the Wild Wagner.
has sold his interest in the last-named

from Wheeling, and has dwelt-since
with his mother id this city. Re has
been down to see his .steamerr,
the big
sternwheeler Arkansas, since her arri
val here, Saturday night, from Dophan's
rapids, and has not made up his mend
yet' as to what trade she will
enter, nor can he clearly discern any
trade that is likely to be remunerative
at the present time. Like several other
steamers, the Arkansas was unable to
•imake the rime" to Fort Benton this
season, and her owners have no reason
to boast of large profits. Capt. A. C.
McConnell, clerk of She Arkansas. went
on to Benton to see his freight delivered
and to collect the bills. When all that
is attended to, he will return to St.
Louis a sadder if not a wealthier man.—
