Alter an egg is boiled cut the shell in two

rich andtkoft food. After they have eaten
the egg, a mush, made of equal parts of

A G:etzt"Fruit Year.- - From every part
Of the country come •reports of the ful
ness of the fruit trees. Strawberries have
been so abundant this year that we doubt
if those who raise them will mace much
money by their crop, and so large that
they put to,shiune the little baskets in
which they are still sometimes sold, and
which Would scarcely hold half a dozen
berries ofte average '
size thititpring.
Around ew York ' the cherry trees are
just now full of ripening fruit; the first
crop for two years in this region. Black
berries and raspberries promise also to be.
uncommonly abundant;' and the peach
orchards, which have so long failed in'this
wt of:the country, hang' full; while in
Delaware they fear that thy cannot
.transponation for thir get
e whole crop. Ap
ples, also, seem to be doing well; but the
pears hive failed in northern.liew`Jersey
and'some other regions, a cold rain hav
ing blighted the blossoms.
' We have had the finest spring of the
last ten years. April'was like June; May
brought "us warm rains, instead of those
cold storms which last
loss of all the year caused the
wet fruit; and June, though
, has given us blue skies, and, until
the storm of last week, no continued bad
weather...N. Y. Post.
Remedy for the Currant . Caterpillar.--
A correspondent of the Canada
becomes: says that as soon as the ground becomes
dry so that- the.stirtace earth about the
bushes can be removed, he takes it away
to the depth of two or three , inchesi. be.
ginning at the stock and going out and
round as far as anything would drop from
the bush. He uses a dung fork to loosen
the earth to the depth that he wants to
take it away', taking care not to injure
the roots.. He takes the soil`thus loosen
ed, by the hand, as it is much safer for
the roots, and it can be done more effec
tually than with a hoe. Be removes this
soil from the garden and brings in new
fresh earth and- fills up -the excavation.
He has tried this plan often on bushes
which bad been totally stripped and when
carefully_ and completely done he has
never had a aterpillar on them the emu
ing season.

Very fine, the finer the better; then wash
the hams or beef, and rub while damp,

them against the depredations of flies and

This will also impart a fine flavor to the
