Simpson's solid prints, which have been
selling as low as lio, have advance to

Allen's and American fancy prints,
which have been jobbing at 12c, now
bring 123§: the Albion solid colors are

tance below here, a difficulty occured be

—The case of Capt. W. B. Donaldson is
to come up at St. Louis to-morrow.
—Capt. Sam. Barr, Jr., was in Cincin
nati on Friday last.
R. W. Enchison, formerly clerk of
the Morning Star, died of consumption
at Owensboro, Ky., on Thursday. He
was a worthy young man and had been
married less than a year. '•
—The Lawrence passed Marrietta on
Friday. Her troubles seem'to have dis
appeared after she got below Beaver
Shoals.
—The Mollie Able left Vicksburg Mon
day on her way up, with .1,200 tone of
freight, and all the passengers she could
carry.
.—The Mollie M. Pike, bound from-La
crosse to St. Paul, broke a shaft on Mon
day at Prescott. The Minneapolis, bound
down about the same time, carried away
one of the piers of the Rock Island
bridge; and was badly injured.
—The Beardstown, with the Black
Crook Company aboard, is now at Madi
son. '

—The Postmaster General has issued
orders to the Northwestern Union pack
ets to adhere strictly to schedule time in
the delivery of mail matter. Dubuque

purchased by the Wiggins Ferry Com
pany, who will at once alter her, and
adapt her to the carrying of freight
across the Mississippi at St. Louts, in

allel to the Dunlelth, which will operate
very similarly a few.rods further up the
, river.
—A suit was instituted at Quincy, 1111
nois, on the 4th instant, by James H.
Washington, a negro, to recover damn

ejected from the steamer Andy Johnson,
and not being allowed to sit at her table
with white passengers. The snit is

a lucrative undertaking to load here for
New Orleans. After talking to the Cap
tain—old Blucher—we Were informed
that he will take the Dexter to Louis
ville to load, or to New Albany to lay up.
—The Messenger, Minneapolis to Pitts
burgh left Cincinnati on Thursday., She
has a barge in tow.
—The Bellevernon, Pittsburgh to St.
Louis, Passed by Cincinnati on Thurs
day with 600 tons.
