ALLEGHENY CATTLE MARKET.
Climax or Prrrssunenz Liazirrrz,
MONDAY. June 7, 1869.
CA.TTLS.
The supply was unusually light this
week
.619 head, though, nevertheless, it
was frilly up to the demand, which was
confined entirely to supplying the wants
of the butchers, all there were no whole
sale
buyers I n attendance. Compared
with lasi week, the market was quicker
and•etronger, and prices ruled about a
quarter hi gher; drovers, generally, did
not consi der the market any better than
last week as there was fully that differ
ence in the cost of the cattle. As usual,
of the 620 head on sale, about 560 , were
from Chicago; 50 head from Ohio, and 20
head from Autler-aud Washington coun
ties, ; In regard to quality, there was but
Mlle difference from that of, last week,
the balkof the offerings consisting of
nioo fat, smooth steers,- bought especially
in chicago.for this market.
It is prObable that grasa cattle will be
ginici make tlaeir 'appearance within the
next week' of and whenever they
ooinmence to chine in pretty , freely it is
getteralty.eicpeetad, that prices will de
clink inailrially. The best fat , steers
