11 H PETROLEUM MARKET LI J COPPICE OF PITTSBURGH GAZETTE, WEDNESDAY, June 2, 1869. The oil market presents but little that is new or really Important. There wa s a fair volume of business in the aggre- gate, while compared with yesterday, Prices have . undergone no material change. There is less oil offering from the east than for some days past. from 'which it is, fair to infer that the. ' , alien sellers" have sold about all the oil they care about selling at present. These eastern shorts, it would appear, sold with a vengeance last week, hating, if ,re ports are true, "sold for several days froth 25,000 to 50,000 bbls per day, aed is is said this was done for the purpose of smashing the market. H 111 -- - . There was considerable activity in Crude today, the sales in the aggregate footing up some 10,000 bbls, while compar edripth yesterday prices are without ma te change. Sale 2,000 bbl (401545) last hal JULIO at 13; 1,000 spot, (40(40)1 at 1234; 1500 paid for the privilege of' cal . The market !or Relined was again very qtalet to-day, the sales, as was the case yesterday, being comparatively light, while prices were steady but un changed. Sale 1,000 bbla spat at 29%; 1,000 first half,July at 30; 500 each No vember and December at 31%; and 1,000 each August to December at 31%. The market compared with last week, thus undeigone no essential change in any particular. Eastern buyers, of which • there were quite a goodly number in at. tendance; would liked to have forced a reduction, but with a light supply on sale, i this was out of the question, and Yesterday- and to-day up until noon, nearly all of. the Cattle offered were ta ken at about last week's prices. As nas bees the case for some time past, the great proportion of the Cattle came from Chicago, prices, it is alleged, being too low here to admit of shipments from Cincinnati or St: Louis. Ohio's market 'Mg but very few Cattle, and the same is true of Indiana; we may expect liberal arrivals of grassers from both of these Staten within the next two or three weeks, and it is expected that whenever grass cattle commence to arrive pretty freely, prices will go lower. • Th was a pretty full attendance 'of easternbuyers to.obay„, including John Smith. John McArdle and Roddy lifayries 'frim Philadelphia and Hen drickson,' Kelly, and Briggs from New York. . The quality of the stock on sale this 'week was hardly as good as that on sale last week. The highest price paid thus fir this week was 7,90 though it is proba ble that the same kind of cattle that brought 8@i8,20 het week, would have cOmManded that figure to-day.
