—The Kate Putnam, St. Loitis to,Pitts

—The new steamer Science just about
completed - at Wheeling, had steam up
for the, first . time on Thursday.
—The little steamer Uncle Sam, now
running in Kentucky River, is having a
texas added. She brought down-twenty
two emigrants for Missouri -last trip.
—A:new boat was launched at Belly's
yard Paducah, Saturday, and another at
Cunningham & Roberts' yard, Paducah,
Tuesday, both for the St. - Louis and Keo
kuk Packet Company. They are both
of the same dimensions; - 235 feet in
length, 5 1 A feet hold, 3735 feet beam.
—The Glasgow has contracted at Du
buque'for wheat to St. Louis at 8c per
bushel, oats at 5c per brishel, pound
freight at 25c per 100 to Cincinnati, 30c
to Louisville; and 40c to Pittsburgh.
—The Great Republic was tied up at
Memphis, on the 16th, for t 63,500, due
Brown dc Jones. She gave bond:
—The two two Darnell's, who mur
dered the Lanes on the Belle Memphis at
Madrid Bend have been indicted for mur
der in the first degree, but have fled the
country.
—When the Liberty No. 3 passed the
Charleston, sunk in the Kanawha river,
on Monday, there was only two feet of
water on her decks and the river falling
fast. She is probably' afloat by this time.
Capt. Murdock turned her over to her
new owner, Capt Bates, of Louisville, a
short time before she sunk.
—The towboat Falls Pilot, is still hard
aground on the falls.
—The Vicksburg broke her shaft last
Saturday just below 18 Mile Point, and
returned to New Orleans for repairs.
—The Northern Line steamers run
through to Minneapolis on Tuesday,
Thursdays, and Saturdajs, and to Sr.
Patti on the alternate days. The mer
chants of Minneapolis are jubilant there
at, and bestow blessings upon the head
of Captain Ward, the President of the
line.
—The transfer boat of the Baltimore
and Ohio Railroad, at. Parkersburg, sunk
a barge VednesdaY containing 1,500
bushels of coal.

falls, where she will doubtless remain
all summer, unless there is a good rise
soon in the river.
—Capt. Davis is in command. of the
Golden Eagle, having recovered from his
recent illness.
