'O7ll l /011 OF PITTSBURGH GAZETTE,
FRIDAY, May 21. 1869.
Theo!! market, compared with yester
day, Presents but little that is new or
important. Notwithstanding there is a
want of that stability and solidity which
should characterize the trade at this par.
ticular season of the year, yet there is
evidently a better and more substantial
feeling springing up, a determination to
do more of a litimate and'lats of a
f i g
speculative bust .8. As we noted the
other day, a number of refineries, that
have been standing idle for months,'
have been nut in operation again, and it
is probable' that others will follow within
the next few days; it is said that there is
'now a margin, though a very Blight one,•
for the -manufacturer, and it is to be
hoped that the discrepancy between'
Crude and Relined, whieh• has so long
prevailed, will soon be properly adjust
red. We should like to be able to record
the fact before this , month doses, that all
our refineries had gone into full. blast;
and we should be,glad to report, prrivals
of some four thousand barrels Ig Crude'
daily by the Allegheny Val.kr, and
shipments east of about the same
amount of Refined on .the Pennsylvania
Central, and this we expect to do when
business is fairly resumed. -
CRUDE.
The .Cr Ude market was hardlY as
'strong to-day as it was yesterday though
prices are without- quotable change.
