A . , PETROLEUM MARKET. OFFICE OF PITTSBURGH GAZETTE, Matinay, May 10, 1869. The oil market was unusually active to-day, the reported sales aggregating, seven thousand barrels of. Refined, and.: fifteen thousand barrels of Crude. On one point, a very important . one, in .re gard to prices being lower, there was no• equivocation; this was conceeed on all hands, and the sales show thievery sells- - factorily. For some time past there has been so little done, t hat it was difficult to get the exact tone of the market, and without sales, prices : best could only be regarded as no.. . 1. It would • elko . appear, that the .grea:'.ulk of the business was done in the early part (of the day, and it was said that there were but very few buyers in the after part of the day,-even at the reduction. CRUDE--Compared with Friday and_ Saturday, Crude• is down from a quarter to a ball cent, and the market is weak, with every appearancest this writing of a still further decline. It is very desira ble just now to get Crude down to Mann- facturing basis, and the sooner it reaches that point the better , for the trade at large.
