Tennessee State Penitentiary.
The Lessee le to take all the able bodied eon-

those needed by the State to rkeep up the estab
lishment. lie shall also be authorized to occupy
and take charge of all the shops and Workhous,
in said prfson, to pat up such machinery as he
may desire, and shall have the privilege of buy
ing, at such prices as may be agreed upnn, all the
Machinery, Tools, Fixtures and Materials en
hand, both finished'and undnlshed.
Said Lessee shall treat those hired with human
ity and kindness, conforming to such rules. bt -
laws and regulations as lief esiabllshed by the
Directors, and work them not exceeding ten
hours each day. For each convict so employed,
the Lessee shall pay into the Stet, Treasury the
price per day bld, said payment to be made quar
terly.

ty. in tne sum of fifty thousand dollars. payable
to the State et Tennessee, for the faithtui per
formance of the Undertaking hereby Imposed.
