' • PRLDAT. April 30, 1869. i
The oil market, compared with yes
terday, has undergone but little change,
and presenti but little that is new or im
portant. This being the last day of the
month, there was considerable inquiry
for spot oil, which was necessary In or
der
_to cover maturing contracts, and
prices for this delivery were if anything,
a shade higher. Otherwise, as we have
already intimated, nothing transpired
worthy of special notice, and the market
remains in much the same condition 'it
has been in all week.
CRUDE—There was some inquiry for
spot wi , to.day, and owing to peculiar
circumstances, prices Were Unsettled, and
r
irregular. We can report ' spot ,(40
to 46) settlement of coat ,at 15; 1000'
settlement, (40 to 46) spot on private
Semis, understood to beabou t 14% or
14X, and 2000 spot, (40 to 46 at 145 i. In
regard to the 16 cent sale, it • may not be
out of plat* to state that it as " forced,"
as this was the last day of g e, and the
contract calling for a ce ain gravity
which is very scarce, theselle r had to
pay that tigure to secure it.
