The markets in a general way; present
but`little that is really new or important.

at this season of the year. In regard to
values, there are no changes worthy of
special notice.

is rather better. Rye buyers generally are
only offering $1,40, while sellers are

unchanged. Wheat: amber 'is a shade
lower, with but a • light business at $1,44;

8 spring, $l,lO. Corn is quiet, with sales
of No. lat 85%g No. 2is a shade lower,
at 62,50.• Oats; the market is a shade
better, with sales of Michigan at 60c, and
No. 2at 66c. Rye Is dull and prices are
nominal. Barley; nothing doing. The
receipts for the past -twenty-tour hours
amounted to 1,700 barrels flour, 2,800
bushels wheat, 19,200 bushels corn, 8,700
bushels oats, and 100 bushels barley.
The shipments for the same time were
2,700 barrels flour, 2,300 bushels wheat,
19,900 bushels corn, and 4,000 bushels
oats.

—Capt. D. S. H. Gilmore who has been
west for, several weeks, returned home
on Wednesday. He was in St. Louis
several days and went up the Missouri
as far as Atchison on the Arkansas,
which boat is enroute for Fort Benton.

—The body 'of George, Ely, clerk of
the G. A. Thompson,:has been recovered
but with no vatnables except his gold
watch. The tinder of the. body refuses
to give it and the valuables up until he
receives the reward of $lOO ,offered by
Capt. Frazier for -the recovery of : the
body. The body of Mr.. John Perkins,
second clerk of the :Thompson, was
found in the river several days age.

will be a , meeting of the , stockholders'
of the Atlantic and Mississippi Stearn
ship Company tomorrow; at Whioh it Is
