Vicksburg levee Wednesday evening
about dark, five., bales of cotton were

—ln the &use of Father Bachman vs.
the U. S. Mail Line, for 810,000 damages
for injuries received at the time of the
explosion of theboilers of the Gen. Lytle,
the decision has been rendered, in the U.
S. Court of Louisville, and damage to the
amount of $6,000 were allowed to Father
Bachman.
—Colonel J. V. Guthrie, Supervising
InSpector, has refused to hear the appeal
of Napoleon B. Jenkins, late - pilot of the
steamer America, from the decision of
the Local Board, at Cincinnati, revoking
his license. Captain Dovenny, Supervi
sing Inapector of the Seventh District,
has decided that Jenkins can appeal only
to the Secretary of the Treasury.
