Nearly one-half this increase is for the Triennial Assessinent of Taxes
under the advanced compensation to Assessors. On April Ist, 1868,
the remaining seven per cent. bOnds authorized by Act of Assembly,
$125,000, have been issued to, and negotiated at par with the Dollar
Savings Bank, for use of the Board of Managers of the Workhouse
and Inebriate Asylum, of which - $13,000 have been redeemed.- The
balanoS outstanding will be retired within four years, from the proceeds
of the Special Tax of one mill. Notwithstanding this addition to the
Funded Debt, the net'." Deficit County Liability" on Janutiry Ist, 1869,
exceeded that of January Ist 1868, only $43,398.47.
