Both rivers continue to swell steadily at this point with twelve feet six inches in the channel by the Monongahela, and thirteen feet by the Allegheny marks last evening. The weather has again turned quite cold, and the ther mometer did not at any time rise above 24. The Allegheny was putting out considerable ice last evening, and we expect to see it bank full this mining.. None of the towboats will venture out until after-the Allegheny ice gets out of the way. The Tom Farrow and Barges, from New Orleans, were due last night. • ' Capt. Dean, has changed the destina tion of the Messenger from Missouri River to the Upper Mississippi. The R. C. Gray, departed for Cincin nati and Louisville,-yesterday forenoon, with an excellent freight, having all she could carry. Pilots —Jas.
