PITTSBURGH MARKETS.
OFFICE OF PITTSBURGH GAZETTE, I
THURSDAY. March 4, 1868.
There was but comparatively little in-
terest taken in business matters to-day,
the time and attention of business men
generally being absorbed in the inaugu
ration, and business, for the time being,
was looked upon as a secondary -matter.
The demand for almost everything is
confined mainly to supplying immediate
wants, and this being the case the vol
ume of course le light, while so far as
values are concerned there are no im
portant changes. Grain and Flour con
tinues dull and neglected, and there is
,no margin for shipment; • Provisions
steady with a fair jobbing demand—
thougb the Western markets yesterday
were a little offish.
APPLES—Are coming in more freely,
and the market easier, though un
changed, $46'16 per bbls, for common to ,
choice.
APPLE BUTTER-85690c.
BUTTER—Is arriving more freely,
and the market is easier, though prices
