Relative to Weighing Coal.
Siscrion 1. Be- it ordained and enacted by the
City of Pittsburgh, in Select and Comm andncils
asstrabied; and it is hareby. ordained enacted
by the authority of tbe stone, That the Finance Com-

SEC. 2. The Weighmaster for said scales shall be
nominated by the owner of the scales, and appointed
by the FIIISIICS Committee, and shall be subject to
removal by said Committee whenever, In their judg
ment, he may not faithfully perform the duties of,
his appointment.'
Sac. 3. Before entering upon the duties of his ap
pointment he shall be duty sworn or affirmed, and
give bond with one or more sureties—Lobe approved
by the MECCA Committee—in the sum of one thou
sand dol.ars, conditioned for the - faithlul perform
ance of his duties.

by the owner of said scales, keep a register of each
load weighed, and furnish to the driver a certificate

the Welthmaster shall, at all times, be subject to
similar inspection.
SEC. 7. Any person who may from time to time
be appointed by the Finance Committee or the Con
troller for that purpose, may require any load of
coat to be welshed on the nearest publie s ales, and
the weight tested by subsequently weighing the
wagou. cart or oil r venicle; provided that the
feet for weighing the same shall be paid by the per
son so directing the weighing thereof. '
Inc. 8. If any purchaser of coal sha'l so demand,
it shall be the duty of the OWIIOf of said coal to have
tee same welshed on the uearest i u bile city Kale.:
provided the fees for weighing the same _ shall be
paid by said purchaser. -,. _
SEC 9. If any coal which may be weighed on tke
petite city scales, under the preceding stetions, shall
be found to contain a less quantity than that stated
saidcertificate of the weighmsster. the owner of
coal and the weighmaster shall each torten the
sum of twenty dollars. '
Sac, 10. The owner of said scales shall-be author
