She will go into New Orleans with one of the best trips of the season. i —A steamboat twenty-two feet in lengt i and carrying eighteen persons, has bee built on oNashoe Lake, Nevada. It has brass engine, weighing seventy-five pounds. It is intended for a pleasure boat, and it is proposed by,a party to take the boat by wagon and railroad to Wadsworth, thence by Truckee to Pyramid Lake, the many wonders of which will be thoroughly explored. _ -The Decatur (Albama) Bebub/ican, of Wednesday says: Yesterday was a proud day for Decatur; the first steamboat since the war was launched from the' shipyard, the Ida. Well may our citizens be proud of the enterprising spirit that prompted our worthy townsman, Captain Mat. Todd, to such an undertaking. The ida—named complimentary to a beautiful and accom: plished young lady, Miss Ida Harris, of Limestone county—fs one of the hand somest and stanchest boats thatever floated on the blue waters of the Tennessee. . The Cincinnati Gazette says: We havo been informed that five steamboat ooll ions have taken place 1i the vicinity of the late disaster to the J. N: McCullough, four of which we can call to 'mind: The collis ion of the C. E. Hillman and Nannie Byers; that of the Leonora No. 2; and Lady Grace; that of the Lady Franklin and JanoFrank lin; and that of the Tiger and J. N.,.McCul lough., It has been Jocularly suggested that thgJ. N. McCullough be left there, and that thero be a bright light placed on her as a warning signal to passing steamboats. —The Nashville Banner, of Friday, says: Competition of a lively nature is springing up betrveen the railroads and the steam boats. The Louisville Jr Nashville Rail road yesterdy , re-established the rate of $1,75 per bale on cotton to Cincinnati. On the other hand,- the R. Moore, which leaves for that port at four P. x. to-day, has al ready.received 175 bales, and willget 150 more to-day, at, we are informed, ill per bale. She has also engaged 200 -barrels of flour for'llaltimore, and a large lot of pea nuts for Pittsburgh. With 175 tuns of pig and bloom iron which awaits her below, she will have as much as she can well swim with out of the river. - . 11=1 • River and Weather.
