The recent heavy rains have not as yet
made any impression on our rivers worth
speaking of, and it is not likely that there
will be a rise for the present. The weather .
cleared up last evening and it looked as if
the rain was over
The Ida Rees No. 2 was sold at'public
aucton yesterday for' $3,800; Capt. - James
Rees being purchaser. Capt. Rees now
owns what was left of the Alleg eny Raver'
Packet Company, the Echo No. and Ida
Rees No. 2.
Capt. Andy Robinson Jr clerk of the Pitts
burgh and Cincinnati packet St. Charles,
was in the' city the other day. ••
. —The Benton, now on her her war.to
Benton from Leavenworth, •is - expected to
be absent only sixty 1 days. -
-The Thomas M. Bagby made a trial
trip Satufday, at Louisville, and every
thing worked adniiribly. She was built

The experiments of feeding passengers
on the restaurant pia has preyed satisfac
tory on the Belle Me phis, Which made a
trip from St. Louis o MeMphis, saving

inst., of the mountain boat, Success, with
one hundred and twenty passengers, $160,-
000 in treasury and live tons of silver ore.
