Mr. BERNARD GRAY has been called upon to ,
run as an Independent Candidate for Common .
Council in the Second Ward, Allegheny, to fill the
vacancy occasioned by the resignation of Mr.
DENHAM. Last nightthe r DeMocrats of the Sec
ond ward held a meeting, but did not nominate a
candidate, endorsing Mr. GRAY as a gentleman,
