A Pittsburgh Girt Ruined.
• We clip the following account of a most
atrocious act, by which a young girl from
this city was ruined by a steainboat pilot,
from the Cincinnati Commercial of..Mou.

few weeks ago, a ge' etienutn, living in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. instructed to
the care of the °Moen of the steamer
Charmer his little son and adopted daughter
'Emma Jordan, who were to go to St. Louis
on a plOaauro trip, and return with the
boat. The boy is about twelve years old,
and the girl about fifteen. The steamer
rettebed St. Louis safely, dist:hal ged her
. cargo, got her return freight, and started on
the upward passage. She stepped at this
city tact Friday morning to retsflve -some
additional freight, and scarcely bad she
been - Moored to the shore, when the pilot,
