Orders executed for the Purchase and
Sale of STOCKS, BONDS and GOLD. .
JAMES T.; BRADY & CO.'
Gold was weak and dull to-day at 140% to
140, with a decided downward tendency:
At the close 140 k, . was ,rnade a nominal
price to keep,up the market to sell on. Most
of the large holder* of bolds , ot off their
capons in advance, and ispoied of them
ohthe : expectation of seeing Tower quota
tions made after July firs. The import of
merchandize keep up to the old'standard of
about five millions a week, but , the 'export
haVellkewise increased, and it is doubtful
whether the exports of gold will be quite so
heavy as was anticipated.l Upto the:action
of the Democratic nomination for Presi
dent, and the action the, convention will
take on the currency and bond question,
the premium of gold will favor the bears,
after that a rise can only be expected from
the recommadation to issue more currency,
redeem bonds on greenbacks, and take
currency in, payment of Import duties.
Few people who have any knowledge of
the true financial condition of the country,
and its resources are made enough to be
lieve in any such probabilities.
€ l ,
Government , bonds wee firmer to-day,
with a light business; f w persons avail
themselves of the privile e of exchanging
their Seven Thirties, and, prefer to wait
till the first of August. Many persons are
under the impression thati - the interest on
Seven Thirties will be paid to July 16, and
bonds exchanged even wi h coupons from
July first, thereby gaining sixteen days
interest. L '

• There was again a pretty full supply of
cattle on sale to-day, and notwithstanding
there was a vary fair attendance of buyers,
.the market was a very tame one, and stock
of all kinds changed hands slowly. As a
general thing the , quality of the stook was
not very good, the great proportion of the
offerings being thin and rough steers and
cows and heifers; drovers genreally report
ed a decline of from y, to 34 compared with
last week, on good cattle and more than
that on common and inferior. There were
several-eastern buyers in attendance, and
while they bought several small bunehes,
they would have taken a good many more
if they could have persuaded- holders to
sell at their prices; the .eastern markets
have *been - dull and unsettled for some
weeks past, and „this causes. parties w h o,
are buying with a view to shipping to oper,

OFFICE OF THE PITTSBUGH GAZETTE,
MONDAY, June 29. 1868. .
CRUDE—The-Crude market was in a
very sensitive and unsettled condition to
day, and while the sales were considerably
larger than for some days past,' it may not I
.
be out of place to state that the great'pro- 1
portion of it was taken by one purchaser.
The party referred to bought two lots of
six thousand barrels each, buyer's option,
all the year, in tank, at 15c, ~and this, we
believe, is - the first sale effected for that
particular delivery this year at4ls. When
we State that all of the oil above noted was
taken by a single purchaser we do not in
tend to convey the impression that there
are no other buyers; what we co mean is
that thus far there are no' other buyers at
that price. We can also report a sale of
5,000 bbls, 1,000, each from August to De
cember. at 13c, _delivered on cars or in
boats at 011 City, seller's option; also, two
lots; one of 300, and the other of 400 bbls on
spot, at 13c t here. A telegram from!Oil
City reports as follows: Market quiet and
dull—nothing doing. 'On creek, holders
asking 84,80, with no buyers; Mire,,holders
asking 35,15, without bnyeas.
REFINED—The market. for bonded oil
was remarkably quiet ,to.day, and, 'not
withstanding there is .a firmer feeling in
Crude, refined was no'better than on Sat
urday.. There • wereinattiro Wee reported,
500 bbls, on spot, at 30 1 40, and 500, same
delivery, at 30?;c. We heard of an' offer to"
sell the last half of July at 3030.. July to
December may be quoted at 32%e, and Au
gust to December at 330.
