SHIELDS STIIEET, from Allegheny - avenue to
Walker street. and for the . grading of DEENA.
VISTA STREET, from Carroll street to Taylor
avenue, and to contract therefor with the lowest
and beat bidder or biddtes, at their discretion.
SEG.. .2.; That for the purpoee of defraying the cost
and expense* or the said improvements, there be
and Is hereby levied a special tax, to be equally as
sessed un the several lots bounding and abutting
upon said alterand said street. reopectively, In pro

paving Me Iffuidet: street, at the following rates,
viz: 45 cents per cable yard for graling,lll.l9 per
superaclal yard for stone paving, BO cents per
lineal foot for curblng. BB cents per yard for brick
paying; Also for grading and paving Bain, Pine and
Bridge streets and Union alley at the following
rates, viz: 45 cents per cuble yard fur grading,
$1.19 per superficial yard for stone paving, 80 cents
per lineal foot for curbing, and OD rents per yard
for enteredrie sidks. Also. that a contract
was into by . said Borough with V. F. How
ley & Co. for grading and paving Bank Lane, from
Union alley to Beres Island Brldgf _ at the follow-
Ing rates. viz: 45 cents per cubic yard for grading.
41.15 per supertlelid. yard for stone paving. ill
cents far brick paling per superficial yard, 87
cents per lineal foot for curbing: therefore.
Sm. I. Be it ordained and enacted by the Select
and Common Councils of McCall, of Allegheny, and
it to hereby exacted by, the authority of the same.
That the Committee on Streets be and they are here
brauthorized to enter into new contracts with the
aforesaid contractors for grading and paving the
said streett, lane and alley, their present contracts
name, and at the same rates, with a deduction of
five per cent.
SEC. 2. That for the purpose of defraying the cost
and expenses of the said improvements, Ihere be,
and la hereby levled, a special tag, to be equally as
sessed upon the several Eels hennaing and abutting
upon the seta streets, lane and alley respectively,
in proportion to the feet front in them respectively
