Juno 11, 1868. The reduction with gold reserve of the New York_ banks', has , made the article scarce lathe market; and caused a slight advance in the-J-premiUm. to-day. The shipments to Europe, have not yet materi ally increased, but any- demand for ex change would'lead'id heavYshiPments of gold. The approach of the heavy payment of July Coupons, had give rise to a more speculative disposition, quite' common be fore heavy disburrsements, and, large sales , _ are made for future delivery at lower rates. A very important item in our estimate of the balance of trade is generally over looked; it is the large amounts of money taken to Europe by pleasure Seekers, of which generally no approximate calcula tion can be made. The amounts brought in the country by imigrants, is generally hoarded to a large extent, either in first hand or by small speculators; and does not come direct into our calculation. In governnient securities a dull and lower market has to be reported with a still downward tendency, and no ivest ment at all. The stwriation in business compels many a small holder of bonds to dispose of his, the present price being con sidered very favorable. - Stocks are improving, and all the princi pal Railroad shares; are, higher. Express thares dull and lovier; and Miiiing shares' strong, quite active and higher. Easiness dull, and money scarcer by a light demand. Closing quotationa as received by Ph. R. Mertz, were as follows: Gold, 140 X; 1931 bonds, 116%; 1862 5-20 s, 111%; 1864 do, 109%; 1865 do. 109;1; Consols, 1123 i; 1040 s, 105%; 7-303,109.
