ly going up during the Week, and*ave ad
vanced about 13 per . cent. for the entire
list, and ten-forties about 2'per cent. Since,
the late rise, however, the, demand for
bonds outside of New Torii has ceased
completelv,and attelatkiri haS been directed
to the Union Pacific Railtoad bonds, which
are about ten per cent, cheaper than ten
forties. These bonds are now being bought .
up by shrewd firiancrers, for theptirpose:of
gaining the gold interest due July Ist. Our
friend Ph. R. Mertz has generally a supply
on hand. • -
In Railroad shares the market was more
animated to-day; the feature of the day was
a strong upward tendency in. Fort Wayne,
Cleveland and Pittsburgh, Ohio and Mis
sissippi and the North Western shares.
