entire additional expense incurred in mak-.

mont instead of Grant avenue, as at first

One of the most terrible accidents we
have had to record Oflate happened yes:
terday at the Fort Pitt Fpundry, in the.
Fifth ward, and by which a very worthy.
mechanic .was whirled into eternity. It
appears that Mr. Robert Brown, a =Ten
ter, was temporarily employed in repairing
the interior wood work of. the . foundry,
which had been destroyed by a recent fire,
;when bysome Means his clothing became
entangled in the belt passing over a pulley,
and before he could be rescued he' was
whirled several times around the swiftly
revolving wheel: ' When taken from his
perilous situation he was found to be shocitc;
mgly injured. His right leg was fractured
above the ankle, and also above the knee,.
and his left leg. had received a compound
fracture above the ankle. His right arm
was shattered all the way from the shout-
der to the wrist. In addition'to these frac..
trures he,imittaltied Several lamer° internal
injuries. •Hewes removed to his residence,
No. 62 Pike street, and Dr. McCann and
'two other Medical gentlenien were called
in, who found their skill unavailing. The ,
unfortunate man died soon after being .
taken home.
Coroner Clawson held an inquest on the
body, when a verdict in accordance with
thefacts was rendered. The deceased was
about thirty years of age r and leaves a
wife and two little children.
