—On Saturday last, a lot - of negroes stole
and butchered a fine blooded cow from Cap
tain Turner Sykes, a few miles from Col
umbus, Georgia, worth. $2OO. The scoun
drels have been arrested and lodged in jail.
—The Danville (Virginia) Timed has
started a report, for the accuracy of which
it says it can vouch, viz ; That there is a
female child near that place only, fifteen
months old, having quite, a large moustache
nearly an inch in length.
—The Atlanta, Georgia, Daily intelligen
cer thiriys that General Meade will have a
hard time investigating the election frauds
in that State. They are rank and rotten and
villainous.beyond 'human conception. So
much for carpet-bag reconstruction.
