Slight Fire.—About five o'clock yester
day an alarm of fire was received at the •
Central office from box 34, at ,Canal and
Liberty streets, which was occasioned by
a slight fire in the William Penn Hotel,
Penn Street, near Canal, in the Fifth ward.
The fire originated in the dining room, and
one table- . ;was destroyed. The, engines
were promptly on' the ground but the fire
was extinguished before their arrival.
