The. Allegheny river, was falling slowly
at thfs,point last evening with a little over
twenty, feet in the channel. ..A.t City

fifteen and a half feet in the channel
Monongahela was also receding last even=

The weatheryesterday was clear and
pleasant and all that could possibly be
desired for the transaction of out door
business.
The arrivals since the date of our last
report include the St. Charles from Cincin
nati and Bellevernon from St. Louis. - The
Wild Duck from New Orleans and Glasgew,
from St. Louis were due last, night and
will doubtless be found in poFt this morn

The Importer was. sold at auction nester-

Owing to some alterations which it is

The Wauanita, 'Capt. Thomas Slutinan,
is filling up rapidly for the Missouri river,
as also the Lorena, Capt.' Samuel Shuman,

derson is up for Cairo and Memphis, and

of Capt. Alet-Grant. Capt. Jake Seddin
has purchased of the St. Louis and Packet
Company, the *stern : wheel steamer Lacon,

kin to brink the ':Laeon to this' port, when
she will be put in order for atrip to Bottom
The Arabian left Little • Rock on 'Friday,
with a fair cargo for, this port. Ben. John
son and Fred. Dwder have purchased the
side-wheel steamer Isabella,'for $8,500.
Capt. John D. Adams, of the Memphis and
Arkansas River Packet Line, is now in our
city ou a • business trip. The' steamer Ill
inois, of the Peoria line of packets, came in
.yesterday, having in tow two ofthe M. V.
T. Co.'s Immense barges, heavily laden
with produce from the Illinois river,,which
goes through without breaking hulk. The
Camelia, of the "0" line, follows the Glas
• gow to Omaha, leaving on Tuesday. On
the same day the Jennie Lewis, of the
"Skit." line, leaves for Lexington, The
Success, Capt.' Tern . .Rea, was reeeivink
freight yesterday for Fort. Benton, ben*
the first boat of the season. , u
. A St. Louis telegram, under date of Mon
day, says: Theriver is rising but slowly.
There Is a gradual decline of the up
per rivers going on. The weather as -un,
comfortably warm.. Business on the wharf
and rivers is - particularly active. Several
steamers are at the .wharf, having made
freight arrangements. The Caryie arrived
from Pittsburgh yesterday, partially loaded
for the mountains. Four feet in the Mis
souri below Lexington, and falliq,k. In the
case of the collion between tha steamers
Agnes and City of . Cairo, •the Unite() States
Court decreed each party equally to blame,
and damages shall be equally divided.
Corn is being shipped from Havanna, 111.,
to New York, by New Orleans; 32 cents per
bushel. ' - •
