mill was not running Tuesday, and con
sequently there was no fire under the
boilers from Monday evening until 'ism
terday morning, and the mill laid been'
running but a short time when the ex
plosion occurred. One of the employes
of the mill had just . arrived 'when the
explosion took place, and on running
in unman the, cause found the fireman
lying some di - mince from the Ifurnace
terribly bruised and manacled. Me called

to his house, which was but a short din

his wounds, when he heard the groans
of the engineer, end upon going to the

Coroner Clawson was notified of the
affair and summoned a Jury. Several
