structive in its consequences, occurred
at St. Xavier's Academy, near Latrobe,
of which we have obtained the following

ciao mile and a half front the Picartsylva -
1118 Railroad. On this location a large
Convent and school building three stories 1

The chapel, completed last fall, was
a besuldul entice. It had stained glass
windows, anct contained valuable works
cif painting and statuary. The marble
altar was saved, but the organ and other
aecreacities were destroyed. The loss on
the chapel, we arollifOrtned,will amount
to over forty thousand dollars. - :
, The Pittsburgh pupils, -about twenty

train. Those of them who were unable,
to reach their homes, were 'provided I

Webster street, and several sisters and a
o number of pupils arrived in the city

taken charge of by Mr. Aiken, undertaks
er, and will be properly interred by him
to-day. The deceased was about thirty
five years of age, and leaves a wife anti
