they had failed to agree upon a verdict.
Judge Stowe remarked that It was good
policy to oblige juries to agree, if possi
ble, otherwise there would be many Oitt.•

represented there was no prospector their
comidg, to a conclusion, he would dis
charge thorn. He suggested that they
about(' again retire, and If they had not -
agreed upon a verdict when the hour for
the adjournment Of the Court arrived,
