reasonable doubt that inch is the object
of the democratic party. The fait plank
of its platform is:
15. ,That the war was undertaken to
put down all opposition to the Constitu
tion of the Dotted Stries--to restore and
maintain such a Union as was inherited
from wise and virtuous statesmen, who
never recognized negro equality, and
never thought of including Devoe' when
they said teat all men are created equal."
We would not ask me man to vote
against his convictions. If &majority of
this people are willing to bequeath to
their children the assurance of another
slavery rebellion rather than acknow
ledge the equal right of every man to his
own labor, his own wife, his own chil
dren, to defend his own home and pro

the lawi which govern h.m; then, in the
name of justice, let them vote for De

triumph now would induce Mr. JOHNSOX
to a forcible resistance of CongrOslit it I
would precipitate the issue. Freedom
and Slavery would again measured
swords, end we should know to whom
this country belongs. It is cowardly to
leave the penalty of our inpirdice - to our
children. If you prefer the subjugation
of the negro to equality before the law,
vote for Judge Sualtswoon, as the Post
advisee, in evidence of that preference,
and, in compliance with Its threats, fight
for your idea. Let no have the question
