The Board itself has no little difficulty in agreeing upon the articles to be.ruled out—one of the members being excel lively fond of cabbages, another of toasting ears, another of everything green, especially greenbacks. The doc tors also differed (as usual) on the veg etable question, some contending that all vegetables should be eaten at this season, while others were in favor of a strictly meat and bread diet. The citi zens, of course; were dividedin opinion. The Germans could not see the necessity of proscribing cabbages, which they had eaten all their lives, and never knew sickness to result from its use. Creoles and made° Missourians, who bad feasted upon green corn from Infancy, were in. dignent at finding that succulent article banished from the markets, while green peas, egg plant, &c., were. allowed to be sold without limit. The citizens clam. ored for. their favorite vegetables, and the hucksters, tempted by the prospect of largec, prohts, obtained the desired u- Hetes and sold them elylyatlarge profile. The police got wind of what was going on, and, urged by the officers, seized and confiscated the prohibited vegetables, and arrested tbe venders.
