been made the victim of a forgery to the

Sinn Drowned.—The Venango Spectator

small raft without oars. Being unable to guide

Skater Drowned. —A son of Edward D.
White, of Spartansburg, imod - about fourteen
years, WAS drowned on Tuesday last, while
skating, on the mill pond near that town. The

him, and the body was not recovered until is

An Increased Tariff on Wool.
Wrontywrox, Dec. large delegation of
wool growers had a protructo.l interview with
Secretary McCulloch, and it is Unde rstood that
he and Secretary II ells are both opposed to
any additional duty. on wool. The growers
assured the Secretary that unless something
was done to protect them against the present
unjust tariff, they will ho obliged to glee up
business. The noun° bill of last session is all
the protection they require.
