A Domestic gooicel
Eliza Morgan, a lady of Welsh extraction,
came to the °nice oC J tulle° Lippert, yester
day, and Instituted legal snit against Kato
Conway, for assault and battery. The parties
are employed as domestics in the family of
J. C. Trisier, On Shingiss street, in Pitt town
ship. On Monday an unusually Wee wash
ing was to be done, am.l Eliza-being the cook
of the establishment, on her devolved the
duty of washerwoman, and Kate very proper
ly was assignedlo duty in the culinary de
partment. In duo time the noon meal was
served, but the viands wore not prepared as
Eliza would nave them, and-she thought tit
to express her dlsappsobation of Miss Ulan
wars endeavors. Naturally enough this
caused an Irration on he part of Kato, and
several hard words being exchanged between
the girls, the latter struck Eliza with a dish
cloth in the face. Eliza's delicate physique
evented her from engaging in a physical
combat, and having no other resource left,
she ha-toned to the humble temple of theJ us
ttce before mentioned—where redress can. be
bad for even dishcloth assaults—and preferr
ed the charge stated. Miss Conway has been
arrested and hold in s'O ball for a hearing on
Saturday next.
