The officer left the ,eity on the Johnstown' Accommodation train, and ,on his ar riving at Daffier station, on the Indiana branch was unable to secure any conveyance to take him to Stewart's residence. Determined not, to be thwarted to his object theofflcer Maned °afoot, and after a walk of fifteen miles, found himself at his destination. lie was rewarded for his fatigue by finding the object-of his search at the house, Stewart was somewhat surprised at the unexpected visit, but conclu ded that as the request Ids presence in this city was imperative it was better for -hies to come. Tho ofilcer reached home on Thursday wlth,Stewart, in charge, and the prisoner was immediately placed on trial.
