meeting of unconditional Union men of North
Carolina, held in Raleigh, to-day, Hon Alfred
Dockery was nominated for tioveriter. The
Constitutional Amendment wan unanimously
endorsed. It Is the only mime between the
two parties of the State. L. s..Hovernor Holden,
who was chase]] President, delivered an able
address heartily endorsing the candidate amt
the platform.
Letters from distinguished Union men were
roceleed from different parts of the State,
pledging their support to the movement.
Dockery stands boldly on the Howard
amendment and the whole basis, which GOV.
Ltolden says will give him a large majority in
the western part. of the State, and with the
vote of the rest of the State, mils' elect him.
