Judges Mellon and brown occupying tin

The first case taken up was that of Bridget
lienohan, arraigned on an indictment for lar
ceny. She was charged url it having stolen a
considerable quantity of female wearing appa
rel, Jewelry, etc., from various parties, the
principal loser being Ms, Reilly. Thu Jury
had not yet agreed upon a verdict.
The next case was that of Mary Christ,
who was placed on triad, an. tudiotment for
larceny relying been found against her. The
defendant was in the employ of Mrs. Barbara
Ernwein, a resident of East Birmingham, in
the capacity of a domestic. While occupylng
this position she purloined a valuable silk
dress, silk cloak, cloth coat, vletOrine, and
other articles, the whole valued at over sev
enty -dye dollars. it Jun' was called and
sworn, but before any witnesses had been ex
amined the defendant withdrew her previous
plea r and p lead guilty to the charge. She wns
remanded to jail for sentence.
Nicholas Biegler was next placed on trial on
an indictment for ug gravated assault and
battery, his w Ito, Barbara }Siegler being the

up he plead guilty and was sentenced to pay

indicted for forcible entry and detainer. The
deiendant owns a house on Liberty street., in
the Fourth ward, Allegheny, and the premises
were let loot, Matilda Gerinausle, on the 19th
