The Assembly met at the usual hour, and
was called to order by the Moderator, Dr.
Km,. after prayer, the minutes of the pre..
ceding session were read and approved.
Rev. S. E. Smith, Commissioner from the
Dutch Reformed General Synod, was present
ed and cordially received by the Moderator,

Rey. J. 31. Die Millen, of the Reformed Pres
byterian Church, was presented, and read a
communication from Rev. Dr. John MeMas
ters, who was appointed Commissioner front
the Reformed Presbyterian Synod, at Its ses
sion last year, hut was unable to be present at
the Assembly. Dr. Kerr responded briefly,
after which the several matters In the com
munication were referred to appropriate
eommittees.
The order of the day, being the report of inf.
Committee on the Board of Home Missions,
was then called up.
Rev. J. C. Forsythe read the report of the
Committee, embracing the following resole

1. That the Assembly record its gratitude to

support of Rev. A. B. Coleman, pastor of those
congregations, and the name has been omitted
from the report, that the report of the Board
be amended no as to _include them.

The Assembly met at two o'clock, and was
called to order by the Moderator, Or. Kerr.
Key. Oliver Katy then offered prayer, alter
which the minutes Of the morning neaten were
read and approved.
The Committee on OHIO and Overture, re
ported on the proposed new version of the
Psalms.
After calm consideration and thorough in
vesugatton the Committee t .ought the
old version should not be rejected or altered,
unless on grounds minutely considered before
hand.
There were some Presbyteries that had
shown an apathy in the matter deserving
the censure of the Assembly, while others
bad made propositions for a neW version, torch
of which had been duly considered, and such
portions of them engrafted into the report of
the Committee as was thought advisable by
them. A series of resolutions accompanied the
report, as follows!
I. That the twenty-tire versions specified In
the list as having a majority of three-fourth
of the votes east by thtl Presbyteries be adopt
ed an amended ey the Committee.
t. That the versions which the Assembly
shall not adopt at this meeting, exuept the
1 fourteen specified in the list as rejected, be
continued in Overtere until the meeting of the
next tieneral assembly, together with the
amendments adopted by the Committee, and
also the second volume of versions.
