Crode market to-day, occasioned principally
by one of our largest refineries buy - mg nearly
six thousand barrels, but aside from this
there was but little done, though there was a
armor feellng,and prices ruled a shade higher.
Salo of 3000 bbls. In brilic,at 11 A; SOO in bulk, at
1414;110 at 14%, bbls returned; and 110 at 104;..
bbre included—total sales reported, six thous
and three hundred and twenty-nine barrels,
which Is mare oil taint has been sold the en
tire week. Towards evening, there was also
considerable inquiry for, shipment, and sev
eral lots could have' been sold at 19 , 461*f.,,
packages included.
REFINED—There is no improvement in lb.
demand for bonded 011, and the market con
tinues dull and weak, and buyers are asking
for still further concessions. It s but proper
to remark, however, that there Is very little
oil offering, as our rellnersdo not Seem dis
posed Vomiter Into new contracts at present
rates, and, besbles,the great majority of them
sre sold for sixty days ahead. We have but a
ingle sale to report, one thousand barrels for
A on private tonne.

CATTLE—The transactions In cattle wore
xerriarkably large tlus week, and with more
favorable novices both from Philadelphia and
Now York, there was an Improved demand,
but notwithstanding the market ruled firm,
prices have undergone but blue change as
compared with last week. The receipts wore
larger than for some weeks pest; but In point
of quality, the offerings, upon the whole, were
hardly up toile usual standard, yet, all the
different grades sold readily, and that, too, at
very fall rate's. • Primo to extra fat steers,
suitable for retailed in the eastern markets
may be quoted at eiti to 8%, though we were
unable to learn of an,v wiles having been ef
fected above 94. It Ca but proper to remark,
however, that there were some few droves of
extra on sale which would have brought
but they Were held at 9cents, and The holders
being unable to realise this last named agora

medium cattle sold at from Of. to 7yc.
SHEEP—The demand for sheep was rather
better than last weekand as there ama, slight
failing off in the arrivals, prices ruled a shade

sheep offering, and, In the absence of sales, we
